Mike Singletary

Singletary was the leader of one of the most impressive defenses in NFL history, the 1985 Bears. The always-intense middle linebacker recovered two fumbles in Chicago's 46-10 win over New England in Super Bowl XX.

Derrick Brooks

Brooks was the leader of a very strong Bucs defense that led Tampa Bay to a 48-21 win over the Raiders. His 44-yard interception return for a touchdown sealed the victory in Super Bowl XXXVII.

Ray Nitschke

The Chiefs and the Raiders didn't have a chance against Nitschke and the Green Bay defense in Super Bowls I and II. Nitschke's intensity set the tone Vince Lombardi's Packers.

Nick Buoniconti

Buoniconti was the most well-known player on the Dolphins' "No name" defense. A Hall of Fame linebacker, Buoniconti had a key interception in Super Bowl VII to help Miami beat Washington 14-7 and preserve a perfect season.

Lawrence Taylor

Taylor, the most disruptive player of his era, led a defense that held two potent offenses -- Denver and Buffalo -- in check to help the Giants capture Super Bowls XXI and XXV.

Chuck Howley

Howley, a six-time Pro Bowl player, was the first guy on a losing team to win Super Bowl MVP when he had two interceptions and a fumble recovery in Super Bowl V, the Cowboys' 16-13 loss to the Colts. He also had an interception in Super Bowl VI, which Dallas won.

Ted Hendricks

Hendricks helped the Raiders win Super Bowls XI, XV and XVIII and was a key part of the Colts team that won Super Bowl V. The rangy Hendricks was a disruptive force and fierce competitor.

Rod Martin

Martin starred in Super Bowl XVwhen he had three interceptions in a win over the Eagles. He had another strong game in the Raiders' victory over the Redskins in Super Bowl XVIII.

Ray Lewis

Lewis led a ferocious Ravens defense in a 34-7 win over the Giants in Super Bowl XXXV. He was the first linebacker on a winning team to snag MVP honors.

Jack Lambert

The athletic Lambert redefined the middle-linebacker position in the 1970s and helped the Steelers come out victorious in four trips to the Super Bowl. He had a safety in Super Bowl X and a key interception that helped Pittsburgh hold off the Rams in Super Bowl XIV.
