North Carolina Tar Heels
While those outside Chapel Hill are probably happy they won't have to deal with Tyler Hansbrough anymore, even the biggest Tar Heels hater has to acknowledge this team's dominance. North Carolina won by double digits in all six tournament games and turned the national title game into a rout well before halftime.
WrestleMania XXV
The 25th WrestleMania was a solid show, if for no other reason than getting to watch (left to right) Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka in the ring one last time.
Plaxico Burress
Not long before being cut by the New York Giants on April 3, the former Super Bowl hero was pulled over for speeding and cutting through traffic in Florida, where he reportedly went off on the officer, bombarding him with one F-bomb after another. This is while he is still awaiting trial on a gun possession charge that could send him to prison.
Michael Vick
While Vick has lined up a $10-an-hour construction job when he gets out of prison, his lawyer is still holding out hope that the former Atlanta quarterback will be back on an NFL team as early as this season. Even though the Raiders have JaMarcus Russell and just signed Jeff Garcia, I can totally see Vick's ending up in Oakland and becoming the first third-stringer to have a top-selling jersey.
A.J. Feeley and Heather Mitts
Their on-again, off-again relationship is totally on again. In fact, the Eagles' signal-caller and the U.S. soccer star plan to marry next February in Cabo San Lucas, which is becoming quite the quarterback destination. That's where Eli Manning got married and where Tony Romo spent time with Jessica Simpson before last year's playoffs.
Dana White
As mainstream as the UFC has become, it seems that its president is still stuck in the Dark Ages when it comes to dealing with media members he doesn't like. It isn't enough that he refuses to credential reputable MMA Web sites such as Sherdog, a partner of ESPN's, from covering his fights, but he has to demean one of its writers publically with a hate-filled rant on his video blog. It's fine to showcase tough guys in the Octagon, but there's no need to act like a bully outside of it.
Jay Cutler
Something tells me it's not going to take long before Chicago and Cutler realize that his success in Denver had more to do with the players and coaches around him than his own streaky skills.
Tony Romo and Eminem
Don't look for Romo and Jessica Simpson to attend an Eminem concert anytime soon. The controversial rapper acted like the Cowboys' quarterback in his new music video, fooling around with a chunkier version of the pop singer. He also knocked Kim Kardashian, so you can probably add Reggie Bush to the list of NFL players who won't be buying Eminem's new CD when it comes out next month.
Cheryl Miller vs. Scot Pollard
NBA TV was already becoming one of my favorite new channels before Miller and Pollard went at it on-air in one of the greatest, most awkward verbal confrontations since Jim Everett took down Jim Rome. Thankfully, this one didn't get physical or Pollard might have gotten hurt.
John Elway and Michael Jordan
It's not easy being the son who follows in the footsteps of a player regarded as the greatest or among the greatest to play his sport. While Marcus Jordan will try his luck playing basketball at Central Florida next year, Jack Elway has already decided to quit the Arizona State football team and focus on other interests at the school, which shouldn't be too hard at ASU.
