Greinke's Week To Remember

You know by now that Zack Greinke won the AL Cy Young Award yesterday. The Royals' pitcher will cap his memorable week by tying the knot on Saturday. He's marrying ex-Cowboys cheerleader and former Miss Daytona Beach Emily Kuchar, who has a Web site and a blog where you can see more of her. I have to thank Aaron, of Ventura, Calif., for the tip on the upcoming nuptials and for throwing in this observation: "Greinke just signed a $38 million contract a year ago and got an extra $100K [for winning the Cy Young] and still has to register for a $4 melon baller at Bed Bath and Beyond? What's up with that? OK, I admit it, I'm cheap. I'm totally sending the melon baller."

Still Watching, Still Awesome

I've gotten tons of e-mails over the past several weeks asking why I haven't been talking about Friday Night Lights in Hot Clicks. A few readers have even asked if I'm still watching the show, which is highly insulting. The only reason I've been reluctant to write about the show is because it's airing only on DirecTV right now and I don't want to spoil things for those who are waiting for the NBC run. So I'll try to give a few thoughts that don't get into storyline specifics. First and foremost, I was worried about the show losing its luster because of the many cast changes. Even though Lyla and Tyra didn't appear in the first three episodes, the show is still very strong. The characters aren't interacting as much and folks like Riggins and Saracen are off in their own storylines, but, as usual, the show is worth watching just for Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton. You know how we get the same sports stories shoved down our throats over and over and over? For example, the BCS stinks, baseball needs instant replay, soccer will become huge in America, etc. That's how the travesty of Chandler and Britton never winning Emmys should be treated. It should be written and talked about 24/7. Anyway, for top-notch Friday Night Lights episode recaps, bookmark this link.

So Late To The Party

Hot Clicks Nation, if any of you has a connection to Rolling Stone or knows someone who works there, you need to help them out before they further embarrass themselves. You see, at 5:04 p.m. yesterday, RollingStone.com reported that The Who will perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLIV. Now, I have to assume that nobody there reads Hot Clicks, because if they did, they would've known that I gave you this information last Thursday. So in order to help Rolling Stone keep up with things, we need to get them to start reading Hot Clicks.
