The bowl season kicks off Saturday with 34 games through Jan. 7 when Alabama plays Texas for the BCS Championship. To get you prepared for this awesome time of year, check out Fansided.com's piece on the 10 best bowl games of the decade. Meanwhile, for those of you in bowl pools, SI.com's college football guru, Stewart Mandel, has the skinny and a pick for each bowl game. And for those of you who might need picks for "recreational purposes" only, here are my top five bowl games to make money on to keep an eye on, in order of confidence:1) Oregon -3.5 vs. Ohio State; 2) Stanford +8 vs Oklahoma; 3) Pitt -3 vs North Carolina; 4) Virginia Tech -4 vs. Tennessee; 5) Georgia Tech -4 vs. Iowa.
