The man on the left is Oilers center Gilbert Brule. On Tuesday afternoon, he picked up a hitchhiker in West Vancouver. The hitchhiker? U2 lead singer, Bono. (After you read the story, watch this video of Bono talking about the incident.)

Actually, this isn't a happy anniversary at all. It was one year ago today that umpire Jim Joyce blew a call that prevented Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga from getting a perfect game. In a new twist to this saga, the duo co-authored a book about the incident, and now Joyce is no longer allowed to umpire any Diamondbacks (Galarraga's new team) games.
