With apologies to the draft, the biggest NBA news yesterday came from Ron Artest. The man who was the central figure at the Malice at the Palace, the man who applied for a job at Circuit City while he played for the Bulls so he could get discounts, the man who thanked his therapist after winning an NBA title, Ronald William Artest, has filed a petition to change his name to Metta World Peace.

Clearly, the Washington Wizards first-round pick (No. 6 overall) saw Wednesday's P.M. Hot Clicks, which led with a photo gallery of the most memorable kisses in sports, and wanted to become part of it. In case you missed it, the 6-11 forward from the Czech Republic, laid quite the smooch on his girlfriend after his name was called by David Stern.
