Derek Jeter belts a home run for his 3,000th hit (off Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price) on July 9, becoming the 28th player to reach the milestone in MLB history. Jeter went 5-for-5 in front of the home crowd and became the first Yankee in the storied franchise's history to reach 3,000 hits.
A jubilant Robinson Cano celebrates after knocking the winning dinger at the Home Run Derby on July 11 in Phoenix. Cano, whose father pitched to him during the event, beat out Boston's Adrian Gonzalez in the final round with a record 12 home runs and still had four outs to spare.
