Hot Clicks: Packers Tom Crabtree fake field goal; Jessica Jane Clement

The Mets fan who joined the celebration of Johan Santana's no-hitter on June 1 was given his punishment yesterday: a $5,000 fine and 100 hours of community service. He's also banned from Citi Field for life. The fan should consider the last part a blessing. The Mets have scored three runs or fewer in 13 straight home games. They have lost 22 of their last 26 games at home and have won just four games at home since the All-Star break. The Nationals have won six games at Citi Field since the All-Star break.

Punishment Or Reward?

As you know, the Packers beat the Bears in a snoozefest, minus this great fake field goal that resulted in Green Bay tight end Tom Crabtree scoring a touchdown. Crabtree followed up the touchdown with this great tweet this morning. Meanwhile, in the Rutgers-South Florida game, Scarlet Knights running back Jawan Jamison pulled off this nifty spin touchdown.

Thursday Highlights

A Tigers fan made the trip to U.S. Cellular Field earlier this week to watch his team take on the White Sox. He also wanted to let everyone know (via a sign) that he thinks Detroit should fire manager Jim Leyland. Third baseman Miguel Cabrerawould have none it, though, taking said sign from the fan. The fan then proceeded to hound Cabrera about his teammates and bash Leyland while Cabrera signed autographs for fans. Cabrera never lost his cool, never addressed the fan and continued to sign for the fans. While I think you should be able to hold up any sign you want at a ballgame (minus vulgarities and slurs), I give Cabrera credit for how he handled the whole situation.
