Arizona became the first team to advance to the College World Series on Saturday.
The Wildcats defeated Mississippi State 6–5 in 11 innings to advance, sweeping the Bulldogs in two games in their Super Regional series. Arizona won in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the 11th, when Cesar Salazar drove home Kyle Lewis with a game-winning single.
The Wildcats are now in Bracket Two of the World Series, awaiting the results of the other Super Regionals to see who will join.
Elsewhere in the tournament on Saturday, Florida State took a 1–0 lead on Florida, while Miami, East Carolina and TCU all failed to advance with a loss. The Hurricanes fell to Boston College, while ECU lost to Texas Tech in 13 innings. TCU was blown out by Texas A&M.
The A&M-TCU, ECU-Texas Tech and Miami-BC series will all be decided Sunday. The College World Series begins on June 18.
