During a lengthy trip to Tokyo, Orlando center Dwight Howard was challenged to dunk on this giraffe hoop, which appears to be about a foot taller than the regulation-size hoop behind it. Why don't they have giraffe hoops in the All-Star Slam Dunk contest?

One elephant decided to be a showoff at the Surin Elephant Roundup, where "pachyderms display their dexterity and intelligence." More than 250 elephants were on show at the event in Thailand. We're just sad we weren't able to witness it.

Nets point guard Deron Williams has been obsessed with golf since teeing off for the first time in a celebrity tournament a few years ago. When he played for Team USA in the 2008 Olympics, he and Michael Redd snuck in 18 holes at a Beijing course. Williams appears in Golf Magazine's 2011 "No. 1's" Issue.

At the 2011 All-Star Slam Dunk Contest, JaVale McGee became the first person to simultaneously dunk two basketballs in separate hoops. He also set a Guinness World Record for dunking three basketballs in one hoop. Too bad he still lost the contest.

This is strange only because Dustin Johnson is a PGA golfer, and most PGA golfers don't look like the dunking sort (hi, John Daly). Granted, Johnson's 6-foot-4.
