The NBA announced Thursday the suspension of Kings forward Thomas Robinson for two games without pay for intentionally throwing an elbow into the neck of Pistons forward Jonas Jerebko during a Wednesday night game. The foul, deemed a flagrant foul 2, occurred with just less than 10 minutes remaining and led to Robinson's immediate ejection.

Robinson will miss Friday's game against the Spurs at Sleep Train Arena and Sunday's game against the Lakers at the Staples Center.

The two players got tangled up after Kings guard Jimmer Fredette fed Chuck Hayes in the post. Robinson appeared to swing back to get Jerebko off of him initially, and Jerebko responded by wrapping his arms around Robinson's waist, as the Kings rookie had beaten him basket-side for potential rebounding position. The ball then went out of bounds and Jerebko continued to hold Robinson, who then took a full swing of his right elbow to clear Jerebko off of his back. Jerebko went straight to the floor, holding his neck in pain.

Robinson, who departed the game with two points and seven rebounds in 12 minutes, apologized on Twitter after the game: "Apologize for my actions mistakes happen I take full responsibility lost my cool will never happen again!"
