Video: Heat's LeBron James dunks on Celtics' Jason Terry

By Ben Golliver
Heat forward LeBron James finished a huge alley-oop dunk over Celtics guard Jason Terry on Monday at TD Garden in Boston.
With the Celtics leading 48-35 and a little more than five minutes remaining in the second quarter, Dwyane Wade picked Terry's pocket in the backcourt, setting up a 3-on-1 open court opportunity. Wade shuffled the ball to Mario Chalmers, who pushed it ahead to Norris Cole, who teed up James for the alley-oop. Lifting off from well outside the protected circle, James caught the lob with two hands and continued to dunk over and above Terry with his right hand.
The slam recalled Clippers center DeAndre Jordan's obliterating dunk over Pistons guard Brandon Knight, as both Terry and Knight were left flattened by the posters occurring above them.
James' slam marks his first entry into the “Dunk of the Year” conversation, which also includes: Jordan over Knight; Kobe Bryant over Josh Smith; Bryant over Kris Humphries and Gerald Wallace; Michael Kidd-Gilchrist over Greg Monroe; DeMar DeRozan over Timofey Mozgov; Nick Young over Larry Sanders; Kevin Durant over Marcin Gortat; Gerald Henderson over Dwight Howard; Byron Mullens over LaMarcus Aldridge; Jeff Green over Al Jefferson; and Harrison Barnes over Nikola Pekovic.
Update: Here's what Jordan tweeted after James' dunk:
