Video: Another Clippers fan nails half-court shot to win car

One more for the road.

An NBA year full of half-court shot highlights saw another on the season's second-to-last night when a Clippers fans sank a midcourt heave during a break in play at Tuesday night game against the Blazers at the Staples Center.

This one was strictly business. Clippers fan Kevin, dressed in a Blake Griffin jersey, walked slowly into a from-the-waist flip shot that went straight in, nothing but net. Kevin's celebration, which consisted of a fist pump and a little two-step, was fairly low-key by this year's standards. For his efforts, Kevin won a new car.

Kevin's shot was the second of its kind this season. Back in February, another Clippers fan won a car by hitting a halfcourt shot of his own.

But, wait, there's more. Heat forward LeBron James famously tackled a fan who hit a half-court shot for $75,000 in January and Thunder forward Kevin Durantmade that magic happen again in March. Meanwhile, another Thunder fan hit a half-court shot in March and pledged to put the $20,000 prize money towards his wife's battle with cancer.

Last but not least, a Hawks season ticket-holder named Kevin had a chance to win $1,000 by hitting a half-court shot, only to have his attempt come to rest, impossibly, on the back of the rim during a January game.

The Clippers went on to win 93-77, improving to 55-26 on the season. Caron Butler finished with a game-high 22 points. The Blazers dropped to 33-48 with their 12th straight loss. Will Barton had a team-high 17 points in the losing effort.
