Video: Knicks' J.R. Smith dunks over Celtics' Jeff Green

The Knicks and Celtics kicked off the 2013 NBA playoffs in exciting fashion on Saturday, and J.R. Smith delivered the top highlight of the early action, duing over Jeff Green during the first quarter of Game 1 of their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series at Madison Square Garden.

With a little less than three minutes remaining in the first quarter, Smith sized up Jordan Crawford in the left corner, using a screen at the angle to find a path into the paint. With Boston's defense momentarily unsure how they wanted to defend the drive, Smith didn't hesitate, driving hard to his right down the middle of the paint to elevate over Green, who didn't stand much chance as he rotated over from the weakside. Smith finished the play with a strong one-hand slam.

Boston, the No. 7 seed, took a 53-49 lead into halftime over New York, the No. 2 seed.

The Knicks are attempting to win their first playoff series since 2000 after capturing their first division title since 1994.
