NBA Rookies at Summer League
Victor Oladipo
Players drafted in June immediately hit the court in July for NBA summer-league action in both Orlando and Las Vegas. Here's a look at some 2013 first-round picks in action, beginning with the No. 2 pick, Oladipo, who averaged 19 points (on 37.5 percent shooting), 4.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 4.8 turnovers in four games in Orlando.
Otto Porter
Porter is the only top-three pick competing in Vegas, as No. 1 Anthony Bennett of the Cavaliers is injured and No. 2 Victor Oladipo of the Magic played in the Orlando league.
Cody Zeller
After his summer-league debut in Vegas, Zeller said: "It's going to be up and down to start with, just because I'm not used to playing this style of ball. The speed of the game, different rules of the NBA, different players, different game styles, it's a completely different game."
Ben McLemore
McLemore struggled with his shooting in his first two games in Vegas, hitting 2-of-18 from three-point range.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Caldwell-Pope averaged 13.8 points in Orlando but made only 22.6 percent from three-point range.
Trey Burke
Burke, the ninth pick, shot only 24.1 percent in four games in Orlando. "Every time I step on the court, there's a target on my back," Burke told ESPN.com "I think guys are always going to try to make a name against me just because I had a name coming out of college. But I haven't [accomplished] nothing on this level yet. So I'm just trying to continue to learn and make a name for myself on this level as well."
CJ McCollum
McCollum helped force overtime in one game in Las Vegas by drilling a game-tying three-pointer in the closing seconds.
Michael Carter-Williams
The former Syracuse standout didn't do much to allay concerns about his perimeter shooting; he made 3-of-19 from three-point range and hit 27.1 percent overall from the field in Orlando. He also had a 26-point, nine-turnover performance.
Steven Adams
Adams, a project center from Pitt, told <italics>The Oklahoman</italics> that he's focused mostly on improving his pick-and-roll defense and that everything else is ''just a bonus.''
Kelly Olynyk
Olynyk averaged 18 points (on 57.8 percent shooting) and 7.8 rebounds in five games in Orlando.
Shabazz Muhammad
The Las Vegas Summer League is a home game for Muhammad, who starred in high school in the city. Muhammad wasn't worried about his underwhelming numbers in his first few games. "This is just practice right now to help me get experience to get in the league and I'm not sweating it," he said.
Lucas Nogueira
The 20-year-old Brazilian center is all Afro and wingspan, and he's a joy to watch, even if he's far from the type of rim-protecting presence he should be given his measurements. In Las Vegas, he has thrown down a number of lob dunks that would sail over just about everyone not named JaVale McGee.
Dennis Schröder
The 19-year-old German point guard had seven- and eight-assist performances in his first two games in Las Vegas.
Solomon Hill
Hill, the 23rd pick, averaged 12 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists in five games in Orlando.
Tim Hardaway Jr.
In his Knicks debut in Las Vegas, Hardaway finished with 13 points, five rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes.
Reggie Bullock
Known as a shooter, Bullock hasn't been shy about firing away in summer league: He attempted 24 three-pointers in his first three games, making seven for a 29.2 percent accuracy rate.
Rudy Gobert
Gobert, a 7-1 Frenchman with a 7-9 wingspan, had one double-digit scoring game and one double-digit rebounding game in Orlando.
