Video: Thunder fan hits half-court shot for $20,000 yet again

Thunder fan Cameron Rodriguez hit a half-court shot to win $20,000 during Oklahoma City's 115-113 win over Denver Monday, becoming the fourth fan to hit such a shot at Chesapeake Energy Arena since Mar. 5.

Rodriguez left no doubt, donning a custom jersey and a backwards hat as he smoothly stepped into an arcing shot that swished through. He celebrated with a lap into the backcourt and shared a hug with Oklahoma City mascot Rumble The Bison, but he made the shot look so easy that this wasn't exactly total pandemonium.

There's also the little matter of precedent dulling the moment. Thunder fans can be forgiven if they're starting to build up a little tolerance to these situations. Indeed, since the Thunder's Mar. 5 win over over the Lakers, Oklahoma City fans have witnessed four successful half-court shots in a span of just 21 home games (including the 2013 postseason).

The three previous makes: Heath Kufahl hits the shot to fund his wife's cancer battle, Justin Dougherty hits the shot and hugs Kevin Durant, and a fan knocks one down during Game 1 against the Rockets.

Oklahoma City $20,000 shot-takers are converting at a 19 percent clip since Mar. 5, assuming that only one (and only one) fan gets a crack from half-court at every game.

Just for giggles, here's a list of NBA players who are hitting less than 19 percent of their three-pointers with at least 21 attempts so far this season (through Sunday): Luol Deng, Patrick Patterson, Evan Turner and Kyle Singler. You guys are welcome to swing through the Sooner State for a little extra shooting work anytime. Just don't be surprised if your new shot doctor is only willing to accept a giant novelty check for payment.
