Isaiah Thomas found Derrick Williams with an off-the-backboard pass for a reverse alley-oop dunk to put the exclamation point on Sacramento's 112-97 home victory over Dallas on Monday.

With 2:53 remaining in the third quarter and Sacramento leading 85-67, Thomas jumped Vince Carter as the veteran Mavericks swingman dribbled the ball up court. Carter went to a spin move but Williams was able to sneak in for the steal, knocking the ball away and sending Sacramento off to a three-on-none fast break.

Thomas had plenty of time to contact a plan that would extract maximum excitement, and he calmly dribbled into the paint before lofting an under-handed pass high off the glass. Williams filled the middle on cue, catching the pass with both hands before rotating to complete a reverse dunk in one motion.

If the Kings were looking for just one highlight to sum up the possibilities of their revamped roster, this would be the one. Thomas made his first start of the season on Monday after Sacramento traded Greivis Vasquez to Toronto as part of a package that netted Rudy Gay. The 5-foot-9 point guard finished with 24 points (on 7-for-16 shooting) and 12 assists. Williams, the No. 2 pick in the 2011 draft, was acquired by Sacramento from Minnesota in a November trade. He scored a career-high 31 points (on 12-for-16 shooting) and added five rebounds.

DeMarcus Cousins scored a game-high 32 points (on 10-for-17 shooting) and grabbed 19 rebounds to pace the Kings. Monta Ellis led the Mavericks with 21 points (on 9-for-18 shooting) and five assists.
