Video: Celtics' Gerald Wallace hits game-winning lay-up in OT to beat Wizards

Celtics forward Gerald Wallace hit a game-winning lay-up with 2.5 seconds remaining in overtime to lift Boston to a 113-111 road victory on Wednesday.

This one was, well, straightforward. With seven seconds left, Wallace brought the ball up the court one-on-one against Martell Webster, who gave ground even as Wallace approached the paint. Washington never provided any meaningful help defense, and Wallace simply kept driving, at a fairly slow pace, all the way to the right block. Once there, he tossed up a little lay-up over Marcin Gortat that banked around and in as Webster fell out of the play.

A John Wall three-pointer on Washington's ensuing possession was no good and Boston held on for the victory.

Wallace finished with nine points (on 2-for-4 shooting), nine assists, six rebounds and four steals for the Celtics. Jeff Green scored a game-high 39 points (on 14-for-26 shooting) and added nine rebounds in the win.

Wall led the Wizards with a team-high 28 points (9-for-29 shooting), 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Nene added 17 points (on 7-for-14 shooting) and nine rebounds in the loss.

Boston improved to 15-29 with the win. Washington dropped to 20-21 with the loss.
