Video: Clippers' Hedo Turkoglu breaks his own ankles during loss to Heat

Clippers forward Hedo Turkoglu faked himself to the floor during L.A.'s 116-112 home loss to Miami on Wednesday.

This wasn't quite on the level of Andrea Bargnani's self-immolating failed dunk back in January, but Turkoglu's self-inflicted ankle-breaking is still pretty mesmerizing.

With Miami leading 39-24 early in the second quarter, Turkoglu swung the ball to the right corner and got it back quickly, hoping to beat a recovering Shane Battier to the middle of the court. As he attempted to accelerate, Turkoglu simply backfired, and his body crashed to the court as the ball popped free. The Clippers were forced to foul to stop Norris Cole from pursuing a transition opportunity; Turkoglu took advantage of the ensuing dead ball to check his shoes.

Here's an animated look at the bumblin' and stumblin'.

All jokes aside, Turkoglu did exit the game shortly after the play, and he appeared to be in some discomfort during the second half. He departed with nothing except the turnover in two minutes of play, and he did not return.

The Clippers signed the 34-year-old Turkish forward back in January after he was released by the Magic. Prior to joining L.A., Turkoglu hadn't played regular minutes since the 2011-12 season, in part because he was suspended for 20 games in 2013 for taking an anabolic steroid that was banned under the league's anti-drug program.

L.A. went on to lose to Miami despite a monster night from Blake Griffin, who scored a game-high 43 points (on 16-for-34 shooting), 15 rebounds and six assists. Jamal Crawford added 31 points (on 9-for-21 shooting), six assists and three rebounds in a losing effort.

Miami was led by LeBron James, who tallied 31 points (on 11-for-20 shooting), 12 assists, eight rebounds and three steals. Chris Bosh added 15 points (on 6-for-15 shooting), eight rebounds and four assists in the win.
