Video: Gerald Green completes alley-oop poster dunk over Kenneth Faried

Suns guard Gerald Green managed to posterize Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried on an alley-oop during Phoenix's 112-107 overtime victory in Denver on Tuesday.

A lot of things have to come together for an alley-oop poster: the pass has to be perfect, the catch in traffic has to be completed and a real defensive effort must be made. All three elements were present here and the final result is one of the better dunks of the 2013-14 season.

Less than two minutes into the game with Phoenix leading 4-2, Green snuck behind a Denver defense that was slow to get back after a missed jumper. Goran Dragic lofted the alley-oop pass from just inside halfcourt while Green was still near the three-point line, but it was a smart idea because Faried was trailing the action by a step. Realizing what was developing, Faried closed hard towards the hoop and jumped high in an attempt to deflect the lob, but Green was already safely by him.

The high-flying Green had no problem getting up to grab the pass, and he used both hands to forcefully slam it through the rim as Faried's momentum carried him towards the baseline to contest the play. The highlight brought the Suns' bench to its feet and rightfully so: this was a beautiful, precise, high degree-of-difficulty play made in traffic. You just don't see this every day (or month).

Here's a look from the baseline at how this one played out.

Faried is no stranger to posterizations, as Raptors guard Terrence Ross memorably crammed over him earlier this month.

Green finished with a game-high 36 points (on 11-for-22 shooting) and five rebounds. Dragic added 21 points, 14 assists and five rebounds in the win.

Evan Fournier led the Nuggets with 25 points (on 8-for-19 shooting), eight rebounds and four assists. Faried added 21 points (on 7-for-15 shooting), 10 rebounds and three steals in the loss.
