Video: Wizards' Nene throws down last-second, game-winning dunk to beat Pelicans

Wizards forward/center Nene threw down a last-second, game-winning dunk to deliver a 94-93 home victory over the Pelicans on Saturday.

With seven seconds remaining in regulation and New Orleans leading 93-92, Washington set up an inbounds play from the left sideline. John Wall inbounded to Nene and quickly received the ball back on a dribble hand-off, and the All-Star point guard worked some clock at the top of the key. Once there were only three seconds left, Wall used a right-to-left crossover and a stutter dribble to get deep into the paint, where he attracted the attention of four Pelicans.

The aggressive drive left Nene wide open on the left wing, and Wall dumped a pass off to the Brazilian center at the last moment. With a clear path to the basket, Nene made no mistake, flushing the ball through with just 0.3 seconds remaining in the game. His dunk put Washington up by one.

A desperation heave at the buzzer by New Orleans guard Brian Roberts was no good.

Nene finished with a game-high 30 points (on 13-for-19 shooting) and seven rebounds. Marcin Gortat added 16 points (on 6-for-9 shooting) and 10 rebounds in the win.

Anthony Davis led New Orleans with 26 points (on 11-for-18 shooting) and 11 rebounds. Anthony Morrow added 18 points (on 7-for-8 shooting) and two rebounds in a losing effort.

Washington improved to 27-28 with the win. New Orleans dropped to 23-32 with the loss.
