Wizards' Paul Pierce taunts Hawks' bench after hitting go-ahead three
Outspoken Washington guard Paul Pierce did not tell The Truth in the closing seconds of the Wizards' 82–81 loss to the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night.
After he hit a go-ahead three pointer Wednesday in Game 5's final seconds, Pierce taunted the Atlanta Hawks' bench, turning to them and saying "Series," the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
But Pierce spoke too soon. With just two seconds left, Hawks' center Al Horford took a ball off the backboard and laid it in to put Atlanta up 82–81 and seal the win and give the Hawks a 3–2 series lead.
Pierce had hit a game-winning shot in Game 3 of this series, and had also previously called the Toronto Raptors - the Wizards' first-round playoff opponent - saying, "they don't have the 'it' that makes you worried."

After Washington swept Toronto in the series, Pierce trolled the organization with a Game Of Thrones-themed photo of him labeled the King In The North and a tweet mocking the Raptors' official basketball ambassador, Drake.
Unless the Wizards win their next two games and advance to the Eastern Conference finals, though, Pierce might be a little quieter in the coming days.
