Stephen Curry on Warriors future: 'It's hard to see myself anywhere else'

Warriors star Stephen Curry will put Golden State fans' minds at ease with his recent comments to the Wall Street Journal. 

When asked for his thoughts on his impending free agency—Curry's contract with the Warriors ends after this season—Curry expressed that he feels at home with Golden State.

"It's hard to see myself anywhere else," he said.

Curry admitted that "curveballs happen all the time"—as evidenced by his new teammate Kevin Durant departing from his longtime team the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Warriors—but Curry remains happy in the Bay Area.

Curry, 28, was selected by the Warriors in the first round of the 2009 NBA draft and has played with them in the eight seasons since. He was selected as an All Star the past three seasons, and is on pace to earn the honor again this year, averaging 26.6 points, 5.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 42.1% from three.

The four-year, $44 million contract Curry signed with the Warriors in 2013 expires after this season, and the NBA MVP is likely to earn a significant raise.

The Warriors are 16–2 to start the 2016–17 season and are in first place in the Western Conference.
