NBA's Bubble Gave 76ers' Matisse Thybulle Confidence to Start Vlogging

Philadelphia 76ers rookie Matisse Thybulle started vlogging down in the NBA's bubble -- but it hasn't been an easy process to get through.

When the Philadelphia 76ers' 2019-2020 season was suspended, rookie Matisse Thybulle knew he had to pick up a new hobby temporarily outside of basketball and photography. Without access to a gym, Thybulle couldn't work on his game too much. And not being able to see the outside world, there wasn't much to snap pictures of.

So Thybulle resorted to Tik Tok, and his short video-making skills were a hit with 76ers and NBA fans from all over. At the time, it seemed Thybulle was a natural at making videos -- but the rookie guard admitted that getting in front of the camera was hard.

After becoming somewhat of a sensation, many were hopeful Thybulle would keep up with his Tik Tok creations through the NBA's resumed season -- but it doesn't seem he will. Instead, Thybulle came up with a better idea and decided to put his DSLR camera to use by documenting the bubble life down in Orlando, Florida.

And once again, the decision to start his mini-series wasn't an easy one. "I've wanted to do things like this before," Thybulle admitted. "Whether it was when I was in college or while I was going through the draft process, but I never really had the confidence to do it, or it just never felt right."

"Coming into this situation knowing how many eyes were going to be on it and finally feeling enough pressure to go through and get over my discomforts whether it's being in front of the camera or just putting myself out there like that I felt like this was a good opportunity to just see what happens."

As he has overcome his nervousness of being in front of the camera and behind all of the editing, Thybulle has once again become an online hit. So far, he's released three episodes of 'Welcome to the Bubble,' which have all exceeded half a million views. While Thybulle knows his production could slow down once the season restarts, the Sixers rookie vows to keep it going as long as possible as fans, teammates, and coaches have all enjoyed the content.
