76ers Fans Praise Jaden Springer for Performance vs. Celtics

In this story:
Sunday night’s preseason opener between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics didn’t give the visiting team what they wanted in terms of winning, but many rooting for the Sixers felt satisfied walking away from the 114-106 loss.
The reason why is because of the third-year guard, Jaden Springer.
It was simply Jaden Springer’s time to shine for the Sixers on Sunday after he was mostly stashed away in the NBA G League over the last two years.
While Springer has gotten a lot of run with the Sixers’ affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, his playing time on the main roster has been extremely limited since becoming the team’s latest first-round selection during the 2021 offseason.
The preseason offers Springer an ideal opportunity to prove he deserves a shot to compete on a nightly basis with the Sixers under new head coach Nick Nurse. Sunday’s game was a great start for Springer’s goal, as he stood out alongside the fourth-year veteran Tyrese Maxey.
Maxey put on a scoring clinic, but Springer did a little bit of everything. Once he got into the game, he was the most energetic player on the floor, getting his hands on everything. Points? He got them. Rebounds? Five of those. And, of course, the young veteran snatched up a steal as well.
Which Sixers Stood Out in Preseason Opener vs. Celtics?
All in all, Springer checked in for just under 24 minutes on Sunday night. He led the bench in scoring with 14 points, shooting efficiently by going 5-7 from the field and knocking down both of his shots from beyond the arc.
It’s just one game for Springer, who knows he still has a lot to prove over the course of the preseason, but I’m not sure his debut this year could have gone any better.

I'm hoping that under this new coaching regime Jaden Springer can start to get some minutes for Philadelphia.

Packs a ton of athletic punch at 6'4". Could see him playing a Bruce Brown-esque role with his combination of ancillary offensive skills and defensive playmaking. pic.twitter.com/JWKG9OfpIR
