76ers' Joel Embiid Builds on Record-Breaking Streak vs. Hornets

In this story:
Lately, the game has been coming super easy for Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.
Since the big man returned to the floor after battling an illness, he came back with a bang by putting a 50-point scoring masterclass against the Washington Wizards.
From then on, Embiid continued to dominate in the scoring and rebounding department, eventually making Sixers history by tying and surpassing Wilt Chamberlain’s streak of 30 and 10 games.
When the Sixers paid a visit to the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night, Embiid’s short shift ended with the big man scoring 41 points and coming down with 11 rebounds. At that point, Embiid tied Wilt Chamberlain in having eight-straight 30-point, ten-rebound outings.
On Friday, Embiid broke the record. Once again, the Sixers’ dominance against the Pistons offered Embiid just 29 minutes of action. It was more than enough playing time for Embiid to score 35 points and collect 13 rebounds to mark his ninth straight outing with those numbers.
Embiid's Take on Surpassing Sixers Legend
When the Sixers hit the road for a Saturday night matchup against the Charlotte Hornets, Embiid continued to build on the momentum. Once again, he achieved an impressive stat line and did it in under 30 minutes.
Putting up 23 shots from the field, Embiid was highly efficient. He knocked down 18 of his shot attempts and collected six points from the charity stripe. He finished his night in Charlotte with 42 points in the scoring department.
On the boards, he came down with 15 defensive rebounds.
With that, Embiid has scored 30 points and collected ten rebounds in ten straight games. Not only does he hold the franchise record, but he continues to build on it.
Embiid will look to extend it to 11 straight when the Sixers return home to host the Chicago Bulls on Monday.
