Following a Philadelphia 76ers’ victory over the Brooklyn Nets and an Atlanta Hawks beatdown issued by the Boston Celtics, the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers are set to conclude the Eastern Conference Game 1 slate on Saturday.

This season, the upgraded Cavaliers swapped one standout guard for a proven All-Star in Donovan Mitchell. Now, Cleveland hopes that Mitchell’s past playoff experience with the Utah Jazz helps a young Cavaliers team make moves in the postseason.

However, the fifth-seeded Knicks are no pushover. Although Cleveland finished the regular season with a better record, the Knicks have handled their matchups against Cleveland really well. 

In late October, the Cavaliers extended a winning streak over the Knicks after they swept New York last season in three outings. On December 4, New York broke the trend. From that point on, the Knicks finished the 2022-2023 regular season with three-straight wins over the Knicks.

Now, the two teams are set to meet for Game 1 of the first round in the NBA Playoffs.
