76ers vs. Cavaliers: Key Talking Points

In this story:
Coming off their dominant win over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, the Philadelphia 76ers continue their road trip with a matchup against the Cavaliers. Cleveland will be looking to keep their momentum going as they are riding high on a three-game win streak.
This is the first meeting between these two teams this season and will feature a familiar face. Georges Niang is set to square off against his former team for the first time since leaving the Sixers in free agency.
As both of these teams look to keep their positive momentum rolling, here are some talking points heading into the matchup.
Can Tyrese Maxey exploit the Cavs' defense?
At full strength, the battle of these two backcourts would have been a major topic in this matchup. However, Cleveland will be without one of their All-Stars as Donovan Mitchell is out due to injury.
With their top guard on the sidelines, Tyrese Maxey has the potential to be an X-factor on Tuesday night. How he attacks a weakened Cavs' defense will be a key thing to watch.
All year, the Sixers have preached for Maxey to be aggressive as a scorer. Even though he's made great strides as a facilitator, the team still needs him to get himself going for them to operate at their best.
How will Joel Embiid fair against the two-big lineup
The matchup most will have their eyes on in Tuesday's matchup is Joel Embiid vs. the Cavs' frontcourt. They are one of the few teams to deploy a two-big lineup, and both are strong defenders.
Embiid will not only have to deal with an athletic and physical Jarrett Allen but a defensive stud in Evan Mobley as well. The Sixers star will have to adjust to having added size and length thrown his way going against a lineup like this.
On Sunday against the Nets, Embiid's heightened playmaking was on full display in a near-triple-double performance again. He might need to look to have a similar performance, as Cleveland will likely be trying to cut off his scoring with their jumbo-sized frontcourt.
Can Jaden Springer continue to solidify rotation minutes for himself?
Over the past week, Jaden Springer has been an underlying story for the Sixers. After making the most of his opportunity against the Boston Celtics, the young guard impressed again in the win over the Nets.
Springer performed well in the preseason and now is getting a chance to prove his worth on the big stage. He continues to shine on both sides of the floor, leaving Nick Nurse no choice but to keep giving him minutes.
In a matchup like this, Springer's skill set might come in handy. While Mitchell might be out, Cleveland still has a high-powered guard in Darius Garland. Nurse could deploy Springer to make life tougher for him on the offensive end.
If Springer is able to keep building off this momentum, Nurse might have to consider making him a mainstay in the rotation.
