76ers vs. Raptors: Joel Embiid Avoids Injury Report

In this story:
Going into their Friday night matchup against the Toronto Raptors, the Philadelphia 76ers have some good news on the injury front. For the first time in five games, the Sixers do not have their star center Joel Embiid listed on the injury report.
Lately, Embiid’s been battling a case of calf tightness. As the Sixers took on the Chicago Bulls away from home last Wednesday, Embiid mysteriously sat out for the entire second half.
While the Sixers claimed he could’ve returned, but the score was comfortable enough to keep him out, the team still added Embiid to the injury report for the following game.
Embiid got the nod to go against the Golden State Warriors last Friday. And even though he was questionable for the back-to-back matchup the following night, the big man still played through the tightness.
It wasn’t until the Monday night matchup against the Denver Nuggets that Embiid took a night off. As the Sixers wrapped up their road trip in Denver, Embiid sat out for the matchup. Then when the Sixers returned home on Wednesday to face the Dallas Mavericks, Embiid went into the game as a game-time decision. Ultimately, he was cleared for action.
When the Sixers go against the Raptors on Friday, Embiid is expected to play as he was left off the injury report this time around. Friday’s game will mark Embiid’s 63rd outing of the year.
The Sixers and the Raptors are set to tip off at 7:00 PM ET.
