The Philadelphia 76ers have officially signed Marcus Bagley, the team’s President of Basketball Operations, Daryl Morey, announced on Thursday night.
According to team officials, Bagley is signing an Exhibit 10 deal.
As a former four-star recruit out of California, Bagley attended Arizona State for three seasons. During his freshman effort, he averaged 11 points and six rebounds while knocking down 35 percent of his threes.
Over the next two seasons, Bagley appeared in just five games as he battled with injuries and eventually stepped away from the team.
Bagley started in 16 of the 17 games he appeared in during college. Averaging 28 minutes on the floor, he finished his collegiate career as a 35 percent shooter from deep, producing 11 points per game. After the 2022-2023 college season, Bagley declared for the NBA Draft for the second time.
Bagley wouldn’t get drafted, but was set to join the 76ers on an Exhibit 10 deal, which was in the works on draft night.
Bagley was set to join Azulolas Tubelis, Terquavion Smith, and Ricky Council as undrafted prospects who would join the Sixers. On Thursday, the Sixers made it official, which will allow the young wing to join the Sixers’ developmental roster in the NBA G League.
Last season, the Delaware Blue Coats found success, winning the championship for the first time. After head coach Nick Nurse promoted Coby Karl to his Sixers staff, the Blue Coats hired Mike Longabardi to take over coaching duties in Delaware.
Bagley will get an opportunity to sharpen his skillset at the pro level, developing with Longabardi and the 76ers’ organization this upcoming season.
