Daryl Morey Continues Campaigning for Joel Embiid's MVP Run

In this story:
Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey has never been one to shy away from publicly supporting his team’s most notable players on Twitter. Since joining the Sixers, Morey has done plenty of promotion for the team’s six-time All-Star Joel Embiid.
And with Embiid involved in the MVP race for the third-straight season, Morey wants to see the big man become the second player to win NBA MVP under Morey’s management.
On Wednesday afternoon, Morey took another crack at promoting Embiid’s on-court dominance for the 76ers this season by taking an opportunity to mix trivia and a giveaway.
“2 tickets tonight for our game against the [Dallas Mavericks] at 7:30PM to a random person who gets this trivia question correct,” Morey tweeted. “Since the ABA/NBA merger who are the player(s) to avg. 30 pts,10 rebs, and 4 assists that did not win MVP. Reply to this message to have a chance to win.”
Answer: @JoelEmbiid in the 2021-22 season is the only player not to win MVP to avg 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists per game

Congrats to winners @TheRealKC3 and @daddyotwins - 2 tickets each on the way! https://t.co/3HtDQTtY5k pic.twitter.com/BcK2xuGZb5
It didn’t take Sixers fans very long to quickly figure out what Morey was doing with this question. With the answer being Embiid, many fans responded. And making good on his offer, Morey gave the tickets to two lucky fans who will have the opportunity to see the Sixers (and possibly Embiid) take on Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Mavericks.
Going into the matchup, Embiid is currently listed as questionable due to calf tightness. While Embiid played in two of the last three games despite getting listed as questionable, the big man’s most recent absence came in the Sixers’ previous outing against the Denver Nuggets.
Therefore, it’s unclear if Embiid will have the chance to improve his MVP campaign when the Sixers face the Mavs for the second and final time this season on Wednesday night.
