Former All-Star Not Fully Sold on New-Look Sixers

In this story:
Through the first ten games of the season, the Philadelphia 76ers were one of the hottest topics in the NBA. Despite an offseason full of drama, they managed to hit the ground running.
Following an opening night loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Sixers ripped off an eight-game winning streak to climb up the standings in the Eastern Conference. This was in large part due to the dominant play of Joel Embiid and the emergence of Tyrese Maxey.
A few days into the season, the Sixers got reinforcements to add to their star duo. Daryl Morey pulled off a trade with the LA Clippers to flip James Harden for a package of draft picks and veterans.
Even with having to integrate multiple new players on the fly, the Sixers managed to keep winning games. Their momentum eventually ended up wearing off following back-to-back losses to the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics.
Following their most recent matchup, one former All-Star weighed in on two of the Eastern Conference's best teams. DeMarcus Cousins is sold on the Celtics making a deep run but is skeptical when it comes to the Sixers.
"That Celtics team is so well put together, I just don't really see any team getting past them," said Cousins. "And I think at a certain point the Sixers will run out of firepower. I could be wrong, but my gut is telling me they'll run out of firepower. Especially during the playoffs when schemes start getting into play and adjustments are made on the defensive end."
When fully healthy, the Sixers looked like a contender on both ends of the floor. Part of what's led to their struggles has been being without two key members of the supporting cast, Kelly Oubre and Nic Batum.
Cousins might not be fully sold, but Maxey and the Sixers have managed to change a lot of people's minds following their impressive start to the season.
