Brandon Jennings Makes Bold Claim About Sixers Star Tyrese Maxey

In this story:
Through the first ten games of the season, the Philadelphia 76ers have been one of the most talked about teams in basketball. A large part of that is due to Tyrese Maxey playing like he is poised for a breakout season.
Since being drafted by the Sixers, Maxey has steadily developed into a promising young player. That said, he is now looking like a bonafide star in the NBA. With James Harden being traded to the LA Clippers, the 23-year-old has taken on the responsibility of being Joel Embiid's new running mate.
So far this season, Maxey has seen a massive uptick in production. He is averaging career-highs across the board with 28.6 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 7.2 APG. In the Sixers' most recent victory over the Indiana Pacers, Maxey erupted for a career-high 50 points.
Following his impressive start to the year, one former player views Maxey as a top point guard in the association. While being a guest on Gilbert Arena's podcast, Brandon Jennings stated the Sixers guard is in the top three at his position.
"He top three right now. I just got him as top three point guard right now," Jennings said. "The thing about Tyrese [Maxey] is this is his breakout year...We've finna see a whole different type of animal with Tyrese."
With each passing game, Maxey continues to put himself in elite company. His 50-point game etched his name in history alongside an all-time great, Allen Iverson. Maxey's efficient production through the Sixers' first nine games also put him in the same breath as a current and future Hall of Famer.
This season, Maxey became only the third player in history to average 28 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and one block on 50/40/90 shooting. The others being Kevin Durant and Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird.
Tyrese Maxey is just the 3rd player in NBA history to have *any* 9-game span averaging at least 28 PPG, 5 RPG, 7 APG and 1 BPG on 50/40/90 shooting splits per @Stathead

At a time where the talent pool at guard is arguably deeper than ever, Maxey continues to climb up the rankings at a rapid pace.
