In this story:

For a moment during the second half of Sunday’s game, the Philadelphia 76ers held their breath as they feared their All-Star big man Joel Embiid might’ve suffered an injury.

As Embiid posted up looking to potentially jump for a rebound, Nets veteran Cam Johnson fell over and fell into Embiid’s leg from behind, which made the center crash to the ground. Embiid remained on the floor for a bit, which was a scary sight for the Sixers.

Fortunately, Embiid didn’t leave the game. He finished the entire third quarter before checking out for the rest of the night. Although he never returned in the fourth quarter, his absence was a result of the game being comfortably in the Sixers’ hands — not because he was dealing with any pain from a potential setback.

The 76ers’ injury report confirmed that Embiid is just fine after the scare. When the Sixers submitted their report on Monday night, Embiid was not listed, deeming his available for Tuesday’s matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Lately, Embiid’s name has popped up on the injury report. Heading into last Tuesday’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers, Embiid was questionable with hip soreness. He was a game-time decision and eventually cleared for action.

The following night featured the same scenario. On the second half of a back-to-back set, Embiid was questionable and viewed as a game-time decision. Once again, he played. Friday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks was the third straight time Embiid was questionable before getting cleared. Fortunately, the trend stopped on Sunday as Embiid was no longer on the injury report for the matchup against the Nets.

That remains the case on Tuesday when the Sixers battle it out for another In-Season Tournament matchup against the Cavaliers.
