Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris on 76ers’ Injury Report vs. Celtics

In this story:
The Philadelphia 76ers won’t have much time to rest between their Tuesday night matchup against the Indiana Pacers and their Wednesday night battle against the Boston Celtics.
As a result, the recovery time for some of the Sixers’ injured players is short.
When the 76ers submitted their injury report on Wednesday afternoon, the star center Joel Embiid was on it once again. As the big man started dealing with hip soreness after Sunday night’s win over the Pacers, Embiid found himself questioning his status for Tuesday’s start of the back-to-back.
Considered a game-time decision, Embiid had to feel everything out in warmups before deciding whether he could play or not. Fortunately for the Sixers, the big man was up for the task. Embiid’s presence couldn’t help the Sixers pull off a ninth-straight win. Although the big man put on a show, scoring 39 points and securing a double-double with 12 rebounds, the Sixers fell short. And after the game, Embiid claimed he didn’t feel like himself on the court.
“I was okay,” said Embiid. “I wasn’t myself. I wasn’t moving as well as I’ve been moving.”
Once again, Embiid is questionable heading into the matchup against the Boston Celtics.
As for the veteran forward Tobias Harris, he’s on pace to play. During Tuesday’s matchup, the veteran was involved in a scary sequence of events, having a defender fall on his head from mid-air. Harris crashed down and remained on the hardwood for a while before heading into concussion protocol. Shortly after, Harris was sent back out on the court to finish his night. Barring any further setbacks, Harris is probable to play despite dealing with neck pain.
Lastly, the Sixers will once again battle without Kelly Oubre and Nic Batum. Oubre, who was diagnosed with a fractured rib, is guaranteed to miss at least a week. His timeline for a return is unclear. As for Batum, he’s been out for personal reasons. Therefore, he’s day-to-day as he gets a personal matter situated.
The Sixers and the Celtics will tip at 7:30 PM ET.
