Kelly Oubre Spotted Working Out After 76ers Practice

In this story:
Kelly Oubre has been working on getting healthy again.
Earlier this month, the Philadelphia 76ers forward was struck by a vehicle near his residence in Center City. After getting rushed to the hospital in stable condition, the Sixers confirmed that Oubre had suffered a fractured rib.
At the time of the diagnosis, the team ruled out Oubre for the foreseeable future, with plans to have him reevaluated in approximately a week’s time. On Monday, the Sixers returned to the team’s practice facility for a practice session after wrapping up a two-game road trip.
Oubre was present, doing some cardio and getting up shots after the session.

Prior to his unfortunate setback, Oubre was thriving in his role with the 76ers. Through the first few games of the year, he was one of the team’s go-to players off the bench. Following the big trade, which sent the starting forward PJ Tucker packing alongside the holdout prospect James Harden, Oubre saw a bump and was promoted to the starting lineup.
Through the first eight games of the season, Oubre spent an average of 29 minutes on the floor. He put up 16 points per game while shooting 38 percent from deep. In addition to his scoring, Oubre also averaged five rebounds and one assist.
As a result of his injury, Oubre missed the previous five games for the Sixers. In his absence, the Sixers have rolled out a starting lineup involving Nic Batum. When Batum wasn’t available, Robert Covington got the nod.
Meanwhile, Oubre has been back at that practice facility, working on getting healthy once again. When he returns to the Sixers’ lineup, Oubre is likely to have a role once again. Whether he’ll return to the starting five or resume a role off the bench is currently unclear.
