Kevin Durant’s Injury Update Ahead of 76ers vs. Suns Matchup

In this story:
Coming off of a Friday night matchup against the Golden State Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers are set to take on the Phoenix Suns.
While the Sixers are dealing with a few injury concerns as of late, their Saturday night opponent is in a similar situation.
During their Friday night matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, the Suns played without two key players as, Kevin Durant, and DeAndre Ayton missed the matchup. Lately, Ayton’s been battling a hip contusion. As for Durant, he’s been recovering from an ankle sprain.
Ahead of the Suns’ Friday night battle against the Spurs, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Durant could be back in action next week.
A targeted home return of Wednesday vs. Minnesota will give Durant and the Suns seven final regular season games to prepare for the playoffs. Phoenix currently holds the fourth seed in the West, just two games ahead of the No. 7-seeded T'Wolves. https://t.co/sZYwcEEZSX

With Durant targeting a return next week, he’s guaranteed to miss Saturday’s game against the Sixers. That matchup would’ve marked the first time Durant faced the Sixers since he was traded away from Philly’s division rival, the Brooklyn Nets.
The last time the Sixers faced Durant was when they took on the Nets in late November. At the time, Durant checked in for 36 minutes, draining 64 percent of his shots and scoring 20 points.
With the All-Star missing Saturday’s game, the Sixers won’t see Durant during the regular season again until next season.
