Multiple former members of the Philadelphia 76ers will be involved in this weekend’s NBA G League Next Up Game. One name that stands out is the Sixers’ newest signee, Mac McClung, who is the only member involved currently with the organization.

The young veteran made headlines a couple of weeks back as he reportedly committed to participating in the NBA Dunk Contest. When McClung accepted the invitation, he made history as he was on pace to become the first NBA G League prospect to participate in the event.

In the days leading up to NBA All-Star weekend, McClung landed himself a two-way contract with the 76ers. As Philadelphia waived the rookie forward Julian Champagnie, they replaced him with McClung, who becomes the fourth player to sign a two-way deal with Philadelphia this year.

In addition to participating in the Dunk Contest, McClung will be a part of the G League Next Up Game. On Tuesday, it was revealed that McClung would join Luka Garza’s team for the event. He’ll link up with several former members of the Sixers.

Saben Lee, who played two games with the Sixers and eight games with the Delaware Blue Coats, has been a member of the Phoenix Suns’ organization as of late. He’ll link up with his former teammate McClung this weekend in Utah.

In addition to Lee, McClung will also play alongside Philadelphia’s offseason signing, Trevelin Queen, and the former second-round pick, Charles Bassey. Although Queen never played with the Sixers or the Blue Coats during the regular season, he spent the summer with the 76ers and was waived midway through the 2022 NBA Preseason.

As for Bassey, he spent his entire rookie season as a member of Philadelphia’s roster. Throughout his rookie year, Bassey would split time between Delaware and the main roster. Before the 2022-2023 NBA season started, Bassey was waived before eventually getting picked up by the San Antonio Spurs. Although Bassey was originally on a two-way deal, he recently had his contract converted to a standard deal.

The game will take place this Sunday, February 19. It will air live on NBA TV at 3 PM ET.
