Nick Nurse Praises Tobias Harris After Win vs. Blazers

In this story:
On Sunday night, the Philadelphia 76ers took the floor for their home opener. While Joel Embiid stole the show with a dominant all-around performance, another player quietly had an impressive performance as well.
With Embiid and Tyrese Maxey off to such hot starts, Tobias Harris' consistent play hasn't gotten much recognition. That said, head coach Nick Nurse made sure to shout him out for his very efficient night against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Harris finished the game as the Sixers' third-leading scorer with 26 points, and did so while shooting 8-for-11 from the field and 6-for-7 from the line. After the win, Nurse applauded him for his strong play.
"I think he can do a little bit of everything," Nurse said. "He can drive it a little bit and then I liked the way he vaulted up and did his catch-and-shoot three. He's got a lottle bit of all that stuff."
Nurse also stated that he wants to keep Harris involved on the offensive end to help him stay locked in on defense.
"I think we do probably play call for him a bit more than maybe some other people just to make sure he stays involved," Nurse said. "Just try to not let too many trips go or long stretches of the game where for whatever reason the ball doesn't find him."
Harris has seen his role constantly change throughout his Sixers tenure, but he appears to be finding a groove with his new coach. What has stood out most is his ability to be effective with a limited number of touches. Through the Sixers' first three games, Harris is shooting 66.7% from the field and 54.5% from beyond the arc.
Harris is unlikely to maintain this level of efficiency across the whole season. However, his ability to be a reliable third option in the offense is something that's flown under the radar thus far.
