Patrick Beverley's Thoughts on Jrue Holiday After Lillard Trade

In this story:
Patrick Beverley and the Philadelphia 76ers sat back and watched the fireworks on Wednesday, as the NBA has seen its biggest blockbuster trade since Bradley Beal packed his bags for Phoenix.
For months, the Damian Lillard saga crowded everybody’s social media feeds as the Portland Trail Blazers played a long-winded waiting game. Finally, they found the seven-time All-Star’s next destination, and they made the wait worth it.
In the end, Lillard didn’t get his ultimate wish, which was to end up on the Miami Heat. Despite his camp doing all they could to inspire teams not to make offers for their client unless they worked for the Heat, Lillard will suit up for the Milwaukee Bucks next season.
The Blazers, Bucks, and the Phoenix Suns engaged in a Heat-less negotiation, which put an end to the saga once and for all. As expected, Lillard wasn’t the only star to get moved in the agreement. Phoenix sent their standout center, Deandre Ayton, to Portland. The Bucks sent the All-Star guard Jrue Holiday there as well.
That move, specifically, made Patrick Beverley feel some type of way.
Losing Jrue is Big. That’s all imma say

“Losing Jrue is big. That’s all i'mma say.”
Back in 2020-2021, it was Holiday, who was Milwaukee’s notable addition in the offseason, via a multi-team trade. Coming off stints with the Sixers and the New Orleans Pelicans, Holiday had established himself as one of the better two-way guards in the NBA.
Should Philly Acquire Blazers’ Jrue Holiday?
The addition of Holiday was big for Milwaukee. After the Bucks struggled to complete their championship quest for multiple postseasons, Holiday’s presence helped give them the boost they needed during the 2021 playoffs. That season, Milwaukee won the title.
Holiday would spend the next two years as a member of the Bucks. He appeared in 67 games in each season. Over the two-year course, Holiday averaged 19 points, five rebounds, and seven assists while draining 55 percent of his twos and 40 percent of his threes.
Swapping out Holiday for Lillard gave the Bucks’ championship odds a boost. Beverley, however, seems confident there might be an opposite effect.
