Live Blog: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Charlotte Hornets on Friday

In this story:
For the third time this season, the Philadelphia 76ers will go head-to-head with the Charlotte Hornets.
The two teams first met on November 23, when the Sixers paid a visit to the Hornets. At the time, Philadelphia missed three key players as Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey were all out.
Although the Sixers stayed afloat during the tough stretch without their key stars, the first matchup in Charlotte wasn’t one of those successful shorthanded games.
The Hornets got the best of the Sixers and took Philly down 107-101. A little less than a month later, the Hornets paid a visit to South Philly and couldn’t find similar results.
With James Harden and Joel Embiid back in the mix, the Sixers took down the Hornets with ease, collecting a 131-113 win. Embiid had finished the matchup with 53 points.
When the two teams face each other on Friday, they are both headed in different directions. Charlotte looks forward to continuing its rebuilding phase, as they are near the bottom of the Eastern Conference currently while holding a 22-49 record.
On the other hand, the Sixers are the third seed in the East, on a six-game win streak. On Friday, we’ll see if the Sixers can continue building on their recent streak of success or if the Hornets can successfully set up a trap game.
