Sixers' Joel Embiid Questionable vs. Knicks on Sunday Night

In this story:
A common trend continues on Sunday night when the Philadelphia 76ers take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden for the second time this season.
Sixers center Joel Embiid is listed on the team’s injury report. According to the team, Embiid is still dealing with foot soreness. Therefore, he is questionable for the matchup.
Although Embiid’s presence on the injury report has been frequent lately, he’s been available for the Sixers for the most part.
The big man’s recent battle with foot soreness started a couple of weeks back when the Sixers were closing out a five-game road trip out West. During the final matchup of the trip, Embiid was added to the injury report for the game against the Sacramento Kings. Before tip-off, Embiid was downgraded to out.
For the following game against the Brooklyn Nets, Embiid was questionable once again. That time around, Sixers head coach Doc Rivers mentioned the big man would be a game-time decision. After going through pregame warmups without dealing with any setbacks, Embiid was deemed ready to play. He checked in for 35 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Sixers continue to monitor Embiid’s foot soreness, but they have yet to rule him out since he missed the late January outing in Sacramento. Over the last five games, Embiid has played without limitations, averaging 34 minutes on the floor. In that time, he’s put up 33 points per game while coming down with 12 rebounds per game. The Sixers have gone 4-1 during the stretch.
While there is a chance Embiid could get the night off on Sunday at Madison Square Garden when the 76ers visit the Knicks, recent history says there is a good chance Embiid could get the nod to play on Sunday.
