Super Bowl LVII: Sixers' Joel Embiid Predicts Chiefs Over Eagles

In this story:
The Philadelphia Eagles are set to finally take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. Sunday’s game marks the third time a professional Philly sports team will participate in a championship game this season after the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Philadelphia Union made it theirs earlier in the year.
With no Philadelphia 76ers hoops on Sunday night, Sixers players will have the opportunity to watch the big game.
While most Sixers players seem to believe the Eagles will take home the title, according to an Instagram video the Sixers’ account recently posted, Philadelphia’s star big man Joel Embiid had a prediction that might not sit right with Philly fans.
According to Sam DiGiovanni of Clutch Points, Embiid predicts that the Chiefs will be Super Bowl Champions on Sunday night. While he made it clear that he’s rooting for the Eagles in the matchup, Embiid claimed that the quarterbacking of Patrick Mahomes would make the difference on Sunday.
Asked Joel Embiid his prediction for the Super Bowl…he said he thinks the Chiefs are winning it because of Patrick Mahomes, who he says is approaching Tom Brady levels of greatness.

He did make it clear that he’s rooting for the Eagles, though.
The last time the Eagles were in the Super Bowl, Joel Embiid was in attendance in Minnesota, rooting for the Birds, who took home the title for the first time in franchise history.
Considering the Sixers completed a back-to-back set of games on Saturday night in Brooklyn against the Nets and are set to play in Philly against the Houston Rockets on Monday, Embiid likely won’t be making the trip out to Arizona this time around to see the Eagles take on the Chiefs.
Like everybody else, though, he'll likely be tuned into the matchup.
