How to Watch 76ers’ Tyrese Maxey Compete in 2024 NBA All-Star Game

In this story:
The All-Star break is winding down as the weekend concludes with its main event on Sunday night. For Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey, he’s set to make his debut in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.
Heading into the 2023-2024 NBA season, Maxey was anticipating an increased role in Philadelphia. With the expected departure of the ten-time All-Star guard James Harden, the expectation was that Maxey would attempt to fill some big shoes by running Philadelphia’s backcourt.
Maxey and 76ers center Joel Embiid entered the season showing flashes of a dominant two-man unit. Embiid, who was the NBA’s MVP and a six-time All-Star heading into the year, has already proven to be one of the NBA’s most dominant. Maxey had something to prove, and it was clear that from the beginning of the year, he was putting together an All-Star campaign.
This year, Maxey appeared in 49 games, averaging 37 minutes on the floor. By taking a career-high 20 shots per game, the young guard has hit on 45 percent of his field goals, averaging 26 points. From three, Maxey has knocked down 38 percent of his shots on eight attempts per outing.
The league knew Maxey could score, but he proved to be a solid playmaker as well. After averaging a career-high 4.3 assists per game two seasons ago, Maxey has outdone himself in that category by producing 6.4 assists per game while only turning it over 1.7 times per game.
With his increased role, Maxey turned into one of the NBA’s most notable guards. For the first time, he’ll represent the Sixers on Sunday.
