The annual All-Star festivities give players a much-needed respite from the tough regular season grind.

For some players like the Antetokounmpo brothers, Giannis, Thanasis, and Alex, the weekend revelry has become a family affair, literally and figuratively.

Brothers

Giannis relished every moment that he got to share with his two brothers on the court, saying that it is during the All-Star revelry that he gets to bond with his family.

"They've been with me in nine events so far, so it's always great to be around with family, with people that make the environment light, keep it light," Giannis said.

Giannis coached the celebrity game and was supposed to compete with Alex and Thanasis during the skills challenge but had to be replaced by Milwaukee Bucks teammate Jrue Holiday due to his injured wrist.

Giannis also served as the captain of Team Giannis, which defeated Team LeBron, 184-175, in a match that saw him play for just 20 seconds due to the injury.

Loving the All-Star weekend

Giannis said being with his two brothers in All-Star events has always been fun.

"As I've said, they've been in nine events with me. We've done the skills challenge together, and they always have fun, takes pictures. It's almost like a routine," the two-time MVP said.

Giannis admitted that the family could have gone on a tour during the break but participating in the All-Star events is also a worthwhile family gathering.

"We always come together around the break. Obviously, we all want to, probably not me but the family, be in Mexico, Caribbean, or in Greece, but it's also nice to bring everybody to enjoy the All-Star Game. Take pictures with celebrities, eat some good food, and go back to work when it's done," said Giannis.
