The Milwaukee Bucks dealt the Phoenix Suns a third straight loss on Tuesday night after they came away with a hard-earned 116-104 victory.

Swallowing the whistle?

Suns coach Monty Williams wasn’t a happy camper after the loss as he questioned the game’s free throw discrepancy. It didn’t sit well with Williams that the Bucks took 37 free throws while the Suns only got 16.

Wiliams was particularly stunned at the number of free throws that Devin Booker and Giannis Antetokounmpo took.

“It is not fair. Book has three free throws, and Jrue Holiday is one of the most physical defenders in the game. Giannis has 24 free throws. It is ridiculous. There is no other way to put it,” Williams said.

Milwaukee could only make 24 of their 37 trips to the charity stripe. The Suns were efficient after making all but two of their attempts from the free-throw line.

Giannis also missed 10 of his free throw attempts, while Booker went three-for-three.

While he questioned the discrepancy in free throws, Williams admitted the Bucks deserved to win.

“They beat us, make no mistake about it, but that is a hard one to swallow,” Williams said.

Giannis keeps the Bucks in the #1 seed

More than the free throw discrepancy, the Suns simply had no answer to Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak was extra productive in the match as he piled up 36 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, a steal, and a block.

The win enabled the Bucks to become the first team to make it to the playoffs this season. At 50-19, Milwaukee now enjoys a three-game lead over the 47-22 Boston Celtics for the number one spot in the Eastern Conference team standings.

With their third straight debacle, the Suns dropped to 37-22, which may have stoked Williams’ frustration.
