Weekly Bucks Lookback: Milwaukee Bucks lock up the top seed in Eastern Conference

In this story:
It was an eventful final week of the regular season for the Milwaukee Bucks, culminating in them finishing with a 58-24 record, which is good for the best record in the Eastern Conference and the entire NBA. The development is a crucial one as it guarantees the Bucks homecourt advantage in every round of the Eastern Conference bracket and even the NBA Finals, should they make it that far. Here’s a quick look at the week that was for the Bucks:
1. Bucks clinch the top seed in the Eastern Conference
Even without Giannis Antetokounmpo in the lineup, the Bucks managed to defeat the Chicago Bulls, 105-92, to officially secure the top seed in the Eastern Conference side of the NBA Playoffs. Portis led the way with 27 points and 13 rebounds, Lopez added 26 points, while Holiday produced 26 points, a season-high 15 assists, and seven rebounds.

2. Khris Middleton exits the game due to knee soreness
The Bucks’ All-Star wingman Khris Middleton did not finish the game against the Bulls, exiting the game during the second quarter due to a sore right knee. The team had Middleton go through an MRI, which came back clean, much to the relief of Bucks fans everywhere.
3. Grayson Allen suffers ankle sprain
While Middleton’s absence was more of a precautionary measure, Grayson Allen’s ankle sprain is a bit more serious as it will sideline him until the start of the first round of the NBA Playoffs, depending on how the ankle heals and how it responds to treatment.
“There was an MRI. I think the findings - we're hopeful that, given that we have a week of games now and then kind of a week of preparation and waiting to see who comes out of the play-in tournaments, may coincide with he's available. So, I think we just have to see how these first four, five, six, seven days, first week goes, how much we can then push him or how much he's able to do the second week, and if everything kind of went perfect, I think there are scenarios where he could be available for the first game,” said Budenholzer.
4. Giannis focused on giving Bucks another NBA title
With the regular season now over, more conversations will now turn to who the MVP this season is going to be. While Giannis has gone on record saying he’d like another one, he added that he’s more focused on leading the Bucks to another NBA championship.
5. Lindell Wigginton shows off his skills
Seldom-used guard Lindell Wigginton got the shot to show off his skills in the Bucks’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The two-way contract player had himself quite the game, piling up 25 points, 11 assists, five rebounds, and a block.
Lindell is the first NBA player to have 25+ points and 10+ assists in his first career start since Isiah Thomas on October 30, 1981.
