Warriors felt Casspi's attitude was 'suboptimal'

Stretch forward Omri Casspi had a strange year with the Golden State Warriors this past season, struggling with injuries and his three-point shot.

Casspi signed a one-year, $2.1 million free-agent deal with the Warriors in 2017 and the belief was he would provide scoring and shooting off Golden State's bench. That turned out not to be the case, as Casspi only averaged 5.7 points in 53 games.

Casspi was waived in April to create a roster spot for guard Quinn Cook, and according to The Athletic's Ethan Strauss, the Warriors felt Casspi's attitude was negligible.

"I don't know if there was a blowup necessarily," wrote Ethan Strauss. "There was a lot of frustration on both sides, though. Generally speaking, he didn't perform like the Warriors expected and they felt his attitude was suboptimal."

Casspi signed a one-year, $2.18 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies in free agency this summer. The nine-year veteran has career averages of 8.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 552 NBA games with the Sacramento Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves and Warriors.

For his career, Casspi has shot 45.1 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from three.
