Nets' Lin to miss season after knee surgery

The Nets announced today that point guard Jeremy Lin underwent successful surgery on his right knee and will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season.

Lin suffered a ruptured patella tendon injury on opening night against the Pacers. It was a sad sight when Lin looked at his knee after falling, as he immediately winced in pain and became emotional.

The Harvard grad is in the second season of a three-year, $36 million deal.

Per the Nets' press release:

"Brooklyn Nets guard Jeremy Lin had successful surgery this morning to repair a ruptured patella tendon in his right knee. The procedure was performed by Dr. Riley Williams, III at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Lin will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season, but is expected to make a full recovery."

Lin only played in 36 games last season for the Nets, averaging 14.5 points and 5.1 assists while shooting 43.8 percent from the field. He dealt with a bevy of knee and hamstring ailments.
