James Harden Unleashes Major Daryl Morey Comment

In this story:
Speaking with reporters for the first time since arriving at Philadelphia 76ers training camp, star guard James Harden doubled down on his Daryl Morey comments from earlier this summer. When asked if the relationship between he and Morey can be repaired, Harden said, "No. Not even about this situation, this is in life. When you lose trust in someone, it's like a marriage... I wanted to retire a Sixer. And the front office didn’t have that in their future plans."
James Harden tells reporters today that the relationship with Daryl Morey can't be repaired: “This is in life. When you lose trust in someone, it’s like a marriage. ... I wanted to retire a Sixer. And the front office didn’t have that in their future plans.”

There has been hope within the 76ers organization that Harden's presence at camp was a step towards possible reconciliation, but that is clearly not the case. As the star guard awaits a trade to the LA Clippers, he is maintaining his stance that there is no pathway to a repaired relationship between himself and Morey.
While it's not overly surprising to hear this from Harden, it's still another major indication that he is standing firm on his previous comments about never playing for an organization that Morey is a part of. The Clippers and 76ers don't seem any closer on a trade than they were earlier this offseason, but perhaps these comments from Harden add more pressure on the 76ers to deal him before the season begins.
Bringing Harden into the season would be a risky move for the 76ers, but there are risks at play for Harden as well if he decides to sit out.
